Case Study
Eurotipo widens horizons with Mimaki’s latest technology
Eurotipo has expanded and strengthened the production printing equipment, with the aim to address the ever-evolving requirements of the market and keep our equipment and production process as up to date as possible. Therefore, they were searching for a large format printing system featuring larger print size, but still providing top print quality and speed.
JV330 is fast, flexible, and productive. The minute they installed it, they immediately saw improvements in terms of productivity and delivery/time to market. And the superior quality achieved has enabled us to explore new application opportunities.
"JV330-160" is used for in-house production of goods: DORAMA Inc.
In addition to the increasing cost of outsourcing as the business expanded, it took a long time to deliver products during the busy outsourcing period, which sometimes resulted in missed business opportunities.
With the introduction of the JV330-160, together with the previously introduced UJF-6042MkII e (Mimaki UV machine), approximately 80% of goods production was done in-house, enabling delivery in a short period of time. In addition, a wide range of cost reductions have been realized by in-house production of interior decorations and pop-ups used in the company's own stores. The company plans to add more equipment in the future to increase the in-house production ratio to close to 100%.
Shimizu Octo, Inc. (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) : M-64s
“High productivity”, “high-definition”, and “beauty of the solid area” are required for printing supersized graphics used for decoration of events like concert venues. M-64s fulfills these requirements, which makes it our favorite printer. However, we want to replace it because minor errors occur frequently. We also want to avoid troubles associated with the change of the dealer/maintenance provider (from OKI to Mimaki).
After replacing the machines, they started to operate smoothly and allowed us to work on almost the maximum production from the start. Minor errors decreased significantly compared to the previous machines. The stable operation is generating more cushion on the delivery schedule than ever. We did not have any particular dissatisfaction over the support, but we feel a sense of security in the support of Mimaki specializing in large-format printer.
Avon Graphics (Rowville VIC)
“Quality is everything for us,” Tate says. “It’s what our clients expect from us and we simply have to deliver. That’s why we don’t rush into new technologies – we have to be sure that it will deliver the best results for our clients, in the turnaround times they need and at a price that represents real value for them – particular as they are ‘on-selling’ our service to their clients.
“Mimaki printers produce as close to offset quality as I’ve ever seen on an inkjet machine, and our customers were immediately delighted with the samples we showed them,” Tate says. “Since then, that quality together with the broad range of products we have been able to offer – which to date has included everything from sign and display, to POP and posters up to A1 in size, polypropylene diary covers and even short runs of ganged-up business cards – has seen this division of our business grow exponentially.”
