Can you briefly tell us about Mereton Textiles?
Mereton Textiles is a third-generation, family-run business based in Sydney, Australia, with a longstanding legacy in the design and supply of printed textiles. The company services a wide range of industries including fashion, swimwear, activewear, interiors, and uniforms. With a strong emphasis on quality and creative design, Mereton works closely with a global network of mills and customers to deliver custom prints tailored to client needs. Their team is passionate about staying at the forefront of textile innovation, making strategic decisions that blend tradition with modern production technologies to remain competitive in an ever-evolving marketplace.

Can you tell us about previous dealings with Mimaki and how you came about to hear about the TRAPIS system?
Mereton has a long standing relationship with Mimaki through their existing digital printing setup, which includes a Mimaki TS300 dye sublimation printer. This relationship built a foundation of trust and familiarity with Mimaki’s quality and service. When the team at Impression Technology introduced the TRAPIS system and its pigment-based solution for textile printing, it immediately sparked interest. The appeal lay in TRAPIS’s sustainability benefits and operational efficiency, aligning with Mereton’s goals of improving production workflows while reducing environmental impact. After testing the system and evaluating its results, they saw its potential and decided to adopt it into their production process.

What are the future prospects for Mereton Textiles with the help of TRAPIS?
With the integration of the TRAPIS TS330 system, Mereton sees strong opportunities to scale up its digital pigment printing capabilities. The system allows them to simplify their workflow—eliminating the need for pre- and post-treatment which in turn boosts speed, reduces water use, and supports more sustainable practices. This positions Mereton to not only meet growing customer demand for local, on-demand printing but also reduce their environmental footprint. Looking ahead, the TRAPIS technology will play a key role in helping Mereton remain agile and innovative, enabling them to explore new product ranges and improve efficiency without compromising on quality.
