Welcome to the Mimaki Australia DRUPA 2016 Blog

Mimaki's hugely successful UJF series was constantly drawing the attention of visitors.

Mimaki's UJF series LED UV flatbed printers are great for producing photo quality print onto practically any product. Perfect for branding up and imprinting items, its low energy consumption and durable print mean it delivers the highest quality output in a fraction of the time of a traditional pad or screen print.

With no limit to minimum run lengths and the ability to handle variable data, short - and highly profitable production become a reality.

Mimaki's Kebab is an optional attachment that fits onto the UJF-3042 HG and UJF-6042 flatbed UV printers. This attachment allows you to print onto cylindrical objects. By using rotary rollers, the KEBAB option rotates the object, allowing UJF-3042HG/UJF-6042 to print on the entire surface of the cylindrical item.

Mimaki Hat-Trick at European Digital Press Association (EDP) Awards

The Mimaki UJV55-320 has been named Best Wide Format Roll-to-Roll Printer up to 320 cm; the Mimaki UJF-7151 plus, the Best Special Object Printer; and the Mimaki TX300P the Best Textile Printer Roll-to-Roll up to 100 sqm/h.

The awards were accepted by Mike Horsten, General Manager Marketing of Mimaki EMEA, at a special ceremony held during the show.
“To achieve one EDP award is an honour – three is a great recognition of the hard work and creativity of our research and development teams in not only bringing market leading solutions to fruition but also in identifying emerging trends and how we can help customers make the most of the opportunities they present,” says Horsten. “The UJV55-320 is the perfect complement to existing sign and display graphics production platforms as well as an affordable market entry for operations looking for new sign revenue streams. The Mimaki UJF-7151 plus addresses a growing demand for digital, on-demand and plateless inkjet printing because of its ability to quickly provide high-mix and low-volume printing.

Mike Horsten adds, “With the Mimaki TX300P-1800, we were mindful of the shift in textile production from both analogue to digital and from centralised to distributed production. We envision a day not too far in the future when consumers will be able to download or create their own patterns rather than being limited to commercially available designs. The TX300P-1800 is ideal for this new distributed model of textile printing.”

Mimaki stand attracted plenty of interest from visitors.

Mimaki showcased their 3D printing capabilities with some impressive samples. 1,000 million colours or more full-colour, the possibility of colourful beautiful expression fine lines and patterns also spread in the faithful reproduction of clear ink representation. The Mimaki 3D printer now under development will use a full-colour UV inkjet method for high-definition printing. Our booth will present use cases and show samples of what Mimaki 3D printers make possible in the SG and IP markets. We think that 3D signage that combines the realistic 3D object with 2D surface, especially in the SG market, will grow into "killer content" that will vitalize the SG sector, which is why we are intending to propose 3D signage made by 3D printer to the market. The high impact, visibility, and feeling of presence of 3D signage will take the appeal of signage to whole different level, and we are convinced that the demand for 3D signage will grow on a world-wide scale.

At drupa 2016, a venue with a reputation as the starting point of world-wide trends in the printing industry, Mimaki's booth represents the latest in digital printing technology under the theme of "New digital printing technologies that will shape the next generation in printing." Mimaki will exhibit three new technologies as next generation solutions. These include "Surface imaging," which leaps beyond the boundaries of graphical expression on flat surfaces, "Mimaki IoT," which is set to revolutionize manufacturing paradigms in industrial printing.
